Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer at Francis, you will be responsible for designing and building electromechanical systems for advanced computer vision and telemetry systems with hands-on contribution as well as coordination across multiple disciplines and functional groups. You will handle full design and engineering development cycles from early concept stage, to manufacturing support.

Design duties will include ECAD development, documentation of designs, interfacing with vendors, and analyzing systems for optimization.  This is also a hands-on role involving building, debugging, and maintaining engineering builds.  You will report to the Hardware Engineering Director while coordinating deliverables with the Mechanical Engineers, other Electrical Engineers, Firmware Engineers, and other technical resources. In this position, it is crucial that you communicate and work effectively with teams located globally including company leadership, engineering, manufacturing, and customers.

For this technical role, you need to be self-motivated to design and develop systems in clear timelines while providing deliverables internally and externally.  You will own entire parts of the electrical system and will be responsible for maintaining the existing features while also pushing the system forward to help Francis understand the opportunities for optimizing the performance, cost, or capabilities of our systems.  You will communicate progress, issues, and documentation of designs to key partners inside and outside of the company.  You will maintain vendor relationships externally to realize designs while driving build planning and documentation internally to complete builds. You will shepherd industry-defining projects from conception to delivery.

There are endless learning and development opportunities from a highly diverse and talented peer group, including experts in a wide range of fields (AI, Computer Vision, Government Contracting, Systems & Device Engineering, Operations, Communications, and more)!
