We are looking for a Corporate and Legislative Counsel to support our growing company with responsibility for drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, supporting the drafting of statements of work and RFP responses, and analyzing existing laws and legislative proposals in the U.S. and internationally. This position is Remote.
Responsibilities
Review, markup, draft, negotiate and facilitate the closing of government and commercial contracts.
Assist the Growth Team with legal oversight of statements of work, RFP responses, licenses and warranties.
Identify and present potential contract risks factors to leadership
Develop playbooks, templates and best practices to support efficient contract negotiation and execution
Support the Public Policy function with analysis and strategic planning on legislative issues and opportunities at the State, local, Federal and international level.
Work on developing NDAs, employment law matters and other legal issues for the company.
Work with outside counsel and consultants on various legal and legislative projects
Requirements and skills
Law degree with strong academic credentials and membership in at least one state bar
5 - 7 years’ experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department with experience in government and/or commercial contracts
Understanding of government procurement laws and regulations
Strong and clear verbal/written communication skills with an ability to communicate at levels of the organization
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and organizational skills
Ability to be flexible, to think strategically and to balance legal risks against business concerns
Possess high integrity, ethics, and excellent negotiating skills with demonstrated ability to execute in a fast paced environment
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong relationships
